Hugh and Di Bennett founded Merly Angus in 2007 with the purchase of country outside Boonah, on the banks of the Teviot Brook.
A few foundation stock from Albert River Angus, and then a major purchase of females including new out cross genetics from Raff Angus, form the basis of the Merly herd.
It is the aim at Merly Angus to always produce structurally sound, ease of doing, well-framed, heavy weighing cattle, having positive indicators for fertility, excellent temperament and slick coats.
Recognising the increased demand for Angus cattle in the north, Merly Angus is well placed, east of the range where heat, humidity, ticks and buffalo fly are prevalent, to meet this need. Thus providing Angus seed stock with powerful A.M. free genetics ready to go in the northern environment. |
